Matisse Studios Modern Mediterranean in Fayetteville Featured in CitiScapes in June 2023

A residence designed by Lauri Matisse of Matisse Studios was featured in Northwest Arkansas CitiScapes magazine, highlighting a distinctive Modern Mediterranean home in Fayetteville. The project draws inspiration from traditional Mediterranean architecture while interpreting it through a contemporary lens.

The design emphasizes dramatic vertical space, natural light, and strong architectural composition. A grand entry sequence, floating staircases with glass railings, and a second-level catwalk create visual connections between levels while framing expansive views throughout the home. The open plan and carefully scaled volumes allow the kitchen, living, and gathering spaces to function as a unified architectural composition. Exterior elements, including white stucco forms, balconies, and indoor-outdoor connections, reinforce the Mediterranean influence while maintaining a modern architectural clarity.
