Principal Architect and Founder, Lauri Matisse, is an architect, a mom of four, an author, and, above all else, an artist which shines through everything she does. Knowing that the quality of life improves when inhabiting beautiful places which also incorporate everyday functionality - she designs exteriors and interiors keeping the clients lifestyle at top of mind while marrying the look and feel to the surrounding region and landscape. This doctrine fuels every project that comes out of Matisse Architecture & Design Studios, in California, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, and all across the United States.

Mentored by internationally acclaimed architects with over 30 years experience in architecture and design, Lauri started her own firm in California and expanded it to Northwest Arkansas and other states.
Lauri is passionate about natural light and the way one encounters lighting in the space throughout the day - morning, noon, and night. Inspired by her favorite architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, and mentors such as Ted T Tanaka, she focuses on the heart of the home, creating comfortable spaces with clean lines and lots of windows - a signature feature being her interior windows. Lauri excels with any architecture style and is especially good at balancing the the old and the new. With one of her mottos being, “Architecture stayed up all night making music and in the morning the light danced,” she is sure to give you spaces that makes your heart sing.
Lauri received her architecture degree from the University of Nebraska School of Architecture and studied at the Architectural Association of London. She is dedicated to learning every aspect of design and building construction so she is more knowledgeable about her products and can confidently guide clients through every stage of the process. Her strongest skillset as a designer, is her ability to truly listen to clients’ needs, to keep projects within budget, and to concentrate on how clients move in a home creating efficiency and flow which saves clients time and money day to day.
