Spanish - Remodel
West Los Angeles, CA
This Spanish style residence was originally built in the 1920’s in Southern California. The client, an art professor, first hired an architect who created a modern addition with a huge glass wall which did not fit the feel and charm of the home. The client then came to Lauri Matisse to cohesively design a Master Suite addition, a kitchen and living room renovation, and an outdoor living space. They were thrilled with the idea of running a stairwell through some existing closets, nestling the Master Suite upstairs in the original house. With classic stucco walls and a terra-cotta tile roof, warm arched openings and wrought-iron detailing, rich wood-beamed ceilings and hand-crafted tile accents, it is clear to see why Spanish is one of our favorite architectural styles.
